Logging Into Lightyear for the First Time

Logging Into Lightyear for the First Time

So you've been invited to join Lightyear... Congratulations! You will have received an invitation letting you know who has invited you and to which account you have been invited to.

Logging into Lightyear for the First Time

When you're first added to a Lightyear account by an Admin, you will receive an email detailing which account you were added to, and which user added you. In the below example, I have been added to the Lightyear company jessreleasenotes by user Jess Callaly.

Within this email, you will be given a temporary password to log into Lightyear for the first time.

Copy this password and click the Login to Lightyear button to be redirected to our login page.

Enter your email address and password into the relevant fields. The email address will be the address the Lightyear email was sent to, and the password the temporary password we provide.

Once logged in, you will be prompted to change your password - we recommend doing this for security purposes.

Enter the temporary password in the first field. Enter the new password in the following 2 fields, ensuring they meet the security criteria (10 characters, at least 1 uppercase and 1 lower case letter, a number and a symbol) and have been entered the same.

Once you have created a new password, you can add a Phone Number to your user account. This is used for 2FA purposes only, you will not receive any communications from Lightyear by text.

And that's it! You've successfully set up your Lightyear account.

Future Invitations

Since, you're already an active user, you don't have to do anything. Instead of accepting another invitation, you'll receive an email that will serve as a notification. See below.

I Can't Access My Lightyear Company

If you are logging in for the first time and have followed all the above steps, you're screen may look like this:

In this scenario, you may have been added to a Parent company, but not added into any specific accounts yet.

When you see this, you will need to contact your Lightyear Admin User to be added into any relevant accounts you need access to.

I didn't receive the notification email. What should I do?

  1. Check your spam/junk folder
  2. If you have checked your inbox and spam folder but still unable to find any email from Lightyear, please contact your IT department as your internal mail server might be blocking our email domain (donotreply@teamlightyear.cloud
  3. If you have checked the 2 steps above but still unable to find the notification email, reach out to support@teamlightyear.cloud
